This incredible, two-day, 210-mile bike journey from Athens, Georgia to Savannah, GA departs from Clarke Middle School at 8 a.m. on Friday, May 2nd, 2008, and arrives in Savannah on Saturday afternoon, May 3rd, 2008. On the first day, we cycle 110 miles to Louisville, Georgia, and we stay overnight in the Louisville Motor Lodge. The second day’s ride is 100 miles and ends at the Savannah city line. On Saturday night, we stay in the Hilton Garden Historic Savannah Hotel. We are pre-booking a block of hotel rooms in Louisville (1st night) and Savannah (2nd night) and will help you make lodging arrangements while rooms are available. Of course, you are welcome to make your own lodging arrangements. We will arrange car transportation back to Athens on Sunday, May 4th. The tax-deductible
basic fee of $200 (make out checks to “Clarke Middle School”) will cover your lunches for both
riding days, drinks, snacks, power bars, maps, continual sag support,
and transportation back to Athens on Sunday morning. Riders are
responsible for the cost of breakfasts and dinners, and for hotel rooms – unless
you raise/donate $1,000 to the school – if you do, we’ll
pay for your hotel night in Savannah. This is the trip of a lifetime – a
great, team-building and cycling experience. |
